11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Miami speaker, George Mill
Creative director, Publikum calendar project
George Mill (aka Djordje Milekic) grew up in Serbia, where he witnessed the devastation of war and experienced the tyranny of the Milosevic regime first-hand. That struggle inspired Mill to “step up” and cultivate positive energy in the design and creative community to counteract an otherwise desperate environment.
Mill asks and answers the question: “When we do not have anything, what can we really do?” The Publikum calendar project, originating in the former Yugoslavia during its 15-year isolation, brings the work of 100 Serbian designers together and serves as an example of the significance of cross-cultural collaboration and the exchange of ideas and creative energy.

We will make reservations at a number of local restaurants for groups to meet by topic.
